The European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM) Academy Basics of General Aviation Medicine Webinar 14 March 2026
We offer a Basics of General Aviation Medicine webinar, open to all, but tailored for specialist physicians who may work with aeromedical examiners (AMEs) or aeromedical centers now or in the future. The curriculum includes 7 hours of online lectures in English language.
Online Lectures (7 hours)
The webinar will occur on Saturday, 14 March 2026 according to the following schedule (CET):
• 09:00-10:00 - Introduction to Aviation Medicine (Stern)
• 10:00-11:00 - Aviation Physiology (hypoxia, decompression) (Cataman)
• 11:00-12:00 - Aviation Physiology (gas laws, fatigue and sleep disturbances) (Elmenhorst)
• 12:00-13:00 - Professional Pilot Working Environment (Holderer)
• 13:00-14:00 - Lunch
• 14:00-15:00 - Legislation, rules and regulations (Maher)
• 15:00-16:00 - Medical expert and pilot relationship (Maher)
• 16:00-17:00 - Incapacitation and operational aspects, aeromedical assessment and decision support (Pombal)
Active participation in the webinar is mandatory to receive a course certificate.
